On the occasion of COP 30, the Brazilian Academy of Sciences (ABC) launched the document “Brazilian Science’s Considerations on the Amazon”, the result of the efforts of the ABC’s working group on the biome (GT Amazônia), composed of Academics Adalberto Luis Val (coordinator, Inpa), Fabiano Lopes Thompson (UFRJ), Ima Célia Guimarães Vieira (MPEG), Karen Barbara Strier (Univ. de Wisconsin, EUA), Maria Teresa Fernandez Piedade (Inpa) and Neusa Hamada (Inpa).

The document consists of 27 short thematic summaries prepared by specialists. The themes range from urbanism, human populations, biodiversity, water, energy, research and, of course, climate change. The summaries review the state of the art of current science on the topic and provide recommendations on topics for decision makers.
